- Junior Section Match Details 27/9/2025
Grabbing the Headlines on Saturday 27th September 2025 were Beechy Under 12's Lightning who celebrated their first win this season in the Manchester Youth Super League.
*The Under 12's LIGHTNING Boys had a fantastic day because all their hard work in training paid dividends as Beechy secured a 3-2 victory over Strike FC. Straight from the kick-off Lightning set the tone in this Division 2 game as they put pressure on their opponents with some great passing plus superb teamwork. Crewe Reeves gave Lightning the lead with a great goal when he converted an Austin Fillingham free kick early in the first half. Beechy's second goal arrived minutes later when Henry Dunn scored direct from a corner, the ball screaming past the Strike FC keeper. Lightning were on top and cruising when against the run of play Strike FC pulled a goal back but Beechy didn't panic and went 3-1 up via a goal by Austin Fillingham. The second half was much tougher for Lightning as Strike FC created numerous chances only to be thwarted by the fantastic James Hardman. Beechy's keeper was outstanding and though Strike FC scored again Lightning kept their focus and collected the fully deserved three points.
*Following their first two Section B games in the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 13's TORNADOES occupy top spot in the table. Beechy who were in action at home against FC Strikerz Wanderers earned the three points with a 4-1 victory. Goalscorers for the Tornadoes in this all-round great performance were Luke, Tyler (penalty) Zach and Lucio. Assists for the goals came via Lucio, Luke and Thomas.
*Still looking for their first Salford and Districts League win are Beechy Under 16's TORNADOES who had a tough eighty minutes in their Division 1 away game at AFC Urmston Meadowside Predators. With only nine fit players and no proper goalkeeper Beechy suffered a 7-1 defeat against last seasons Division 1 runners-up. The Tornadoes consolation goal came from a Jayden Hoye header following Oscar Mathers excellent corner.
*Edan McHugh and Sonny Phillips scored the goals for Beechy Under 11's THUNDER (9v9) in their Division 2 fixture with FC Whites. At the Central Venue this win helped the Beechy Boys to maintain their unbeaten run in the Manchester Youth Super League.
*Beechy Under 11's STORM (9v9) had home advantage for their Black Division fixture versus Euxton Villa. Both teams had to deal with a difficult playing surface and at the final whistle it was the visitors who won the game. Storm's squad for the contest was Alfie, Bobby, Jacob, Oscar P, Oscar B, Harry, Isaac, George, Carter, Joshua and Redas who was named Player of the Match. Beechy's only goal was scored by George.
*The first half of the U8's Red Group game between Beechy THUNDER and Swinton Lions was a tightly contested affair. Thunder showed real discipline and organisation at the back and the Lions found clear cut chances hard to come by. Thunder's goalkeeeper Raurie made some great saves but just before half time the Lions managed to dreak the deadlock with a well taken goal. Beechy got back into the game after a quick corner taken by Aldo found Man of the Match Freddie who added a smart finish. A flurry of goals followed from Swinton Lions but the Thunder players never let their heads drop as they fought hard until the end. Well done to Trophy Winner George who produced some brave defending whilst Raurie received the Parents MOM award thanks to some impressive saves. Thunder's squad was Raurie, Gideon, Aldo, Roman, Ronnie, Freddie, Jesse and George.
*Another Beechy team seeking their first win of the season in the Salford and Districts League are the Under 12's TORNADOES (9v9) On Saturday morning the Tornadoes who were away against Salford Town lost this Division 4 game 4-1. Joshua Green who was making his Tornadoes debut netted Beechys consolation goal.

From defense to attack in a flash, that was the story of today’s game.
The Beechy Boys pressed high, won every duel, and turned ball recoveries into lethal counter-attacks. Time and again, the opposition lost possession only to see us sprinting forward with pace and precision.
In the first half, this style of play was unstoppable: Kevin and Alvin punished the defense with quick strikes givin us out first 4 goals before subs came into action, The introduction of our substitutes halfway through the first half did not change the momentum of the match, giving us a hat-trick from Samuel and William scoring his 1st league goal, by halftime the scoreboard showed eight goals — the perfect reflection of teamwork and intensity.
The second half saw the opposition fight back bravely with 2 more boys in the field and having some opportunities they manage to grab one goal, but our boys never lost control. BEECHFIELD LIGHTNING v BEECHFIELD TORNADOES
Lightning Starting Team:
Bobby
Finley
Elliot
Angelo
Bodie
Ronnie
Billy - 1⚽
Subs
Ralph - 1⚽
Brayden - 2⚽
Derby day encounter for the Lightning boys today against tornados. The game got off to a competitive start with both teams fighting for possession of the ball. Lightning found it tough to get going into a passing rhythm possibly brought on by the brisk winds created by the tornado boys who were holding a tight formation and making it hard for lightning to get into their stride. Elliot and Ronnie had some good chances coming in off the right wing and Billy was finding space out on the left but Tornadoes were proving a tough nut to crack. Tornadoes broke the deadlock after a defensive clearance fell kindly for their attacker Arlo who slotted his finish very well past Bobby who up until that point had very little to do. Lightning had to up the tempo and the ever menacing Billy came up with the goods with a close range finish after some good pressure from the Lightning boys ⚡. Finley, Angelo and Bodie were starting to find each other and play out from the back giving Billy and Ronnie some more goal scoring opportunities but Tornadoes defended very well. The introduction of Brayden started to give the Tornado boys a headache with his darting runs and direct passing and he was awarded for his pressure after linking up well with Ronnie who found him in the box to tuck away Lightning's second goal and gain the lead ⚡. Brayden continued into the second half making himself a nuisance for Tornado and finding his second goal from a shot inside the box ⚡. Lightning were starting to get into their rhythm and play some better football with Bodie leading by example from the back and managing to give his dad some stick in the process for playing him out of position 😆. Finley and Brayden were called to defensive duties as Tornadoes were looking to get back into the game. Bobby was also called on to make an excellent clearance for a near carbon copy scenario in Tornadoes first goal but Bobby made sure it wasn't going to be repeated ⚡. Ralph came into the game instantly looking to be a direct threat and he was awarded for it after finding himself with a shooting chance which he smashed in expertly off the crossbar for Lightning's 4th ⚡.
Another good win for the lads today who took a while to get going but eventually found their feet ⚡.
Man of the Match - Bodie, lead by example from the back today making some great interceptions and passes to go with it ⚡.
⚽️ Max Schofield - Pen
⚽️ Jack Sinclair - Pen
⚽️ Austin Pierce
🅰️ Barkley Pope
A local derby on Beech Farm against a strong Moorside team that had beaten us twice last season. After the disappointment of last week the boys dusted themselves off, put in a proper shift in training midweek and were confident coming into the game.
Beechy started the game on the back foot which has been a bit typical of us of late but some heroic defensive work Harry Wharton on the line and an overall solid defensive unit meant we limited their early threat. Moorside did take the lead midway through the first half after we were caught on the ball in midfield a through ball found their rapid striker and he managed to squeeze past Jay in goal. That seemed to galvanise the Beechy Boys though and we started to put our passes together in midfield and when Barkley Pope beat his man, drove into the box and was pulled back but the opposing midfielder and won us a pen. Max Schofield stood up and side footed it into the bottom corner for 1-1. Beechy continued to press the issue, but for some good defending could’ve added to our tally. It wasn’t to be and we went in half time at 1-1.
We had an honest half time team talk and the boys went out into the second half and executed. Beechy were bossing the game winning every header, every 50/50 and looked dangerous going forward and eventually the pressure told, Barkley Pope won the ball out on the right, played a nice 1-2 with Denholm Brooks who attacked his man, he got held up but still managed to wriggle through 2 men and was eventually brought down for another pen. This time Jack Sinclair stepped up and smashed the ball into the roof of the net to give us a deserved lead.
With 10 mins left on the clock we were looking in control of the game but at 2-1 it was still a little nervy until Barkley won the ball down the right, beat his man again and played a sublime ball into Austin Pierce who duly obliged and smashed the ball home for 3-1 to cap off a fantastic team performance.
These boys faced adversity head on, and they showed resilience and character and after last week they really turned up against one of the better teams in our league.
Man of the Match could’ve gone to a number of players and Barkley is so unlucky not to get it after winning us 2 pens and getting his assist but this week it goes to Harvey King, after a fantastic start to the season Harvey and all the back line for that matter have set the standard, he won every 50/50, every header and never backed out of a tackle.
*BEECHFIELD STORM U9's v ORDSALL JUNIORS 27/9/2025
⚽️
Jose x1
Alfie x1
🅰️
Jose x1
Arman x1
Better game from Storm who played well throughout though defensive errors marred a decent performance - lads ran their hearts out with a lot of dead legs at the end!
Vincent in goal, Josh and Reggie at the back, midfield of Alfie & Nathan with Arman in an attacking midfield role with Jose ahead.
Game started well with strong tackles going in, both Reggie and Josh holding strong. First chance came to Storm with Nathan powering down the wing crossing in with neither Arman or Jose able to convert. Storm playing some really good football with both Arman and Jose linking very well - Jose had a couple of shots saved by the goalkeeper.
Vince looking assured as Ordsall broke forward making a couple of smart covers - however one of their strikers got around the side blasting the ball into the top corner.
Jose looked the main threat with a shot saved and following a beautiful ball from Nathan went through & agonisingly struck against the keeper.
Storm did respond and it was good passing at the back, Josh recovering playing forward to Nathan, played in to Arman who released Jose who made no mistake hitting it into the top corner. Storm looked the more promising towards the end of the half but a defensive error led to an agonising scoreline at half time.
Starting well again Storm assumed control, however a cheap free kick from a robust challenge was punished hitting it into the top corner.
Tactical change saw Alfie move into a battering ram striker role & following a collection from Nathan the forward line linked well with Jose threading through to Alfie who slotted the ball past bringing Storm back into it.
Reggie played Josh who skipped down the right playing across with Jose & Arman close to getting it on target, Nathan also had a huge chance taking it round multiple players, through on goal and agonisingly struck wide.
A mistake from a kick in gave Ordsall a free run at defence, confusion at the back gave the opposition and easy finish. Finally Storm again their own undoing with a corner deflected in for an OG.
A far better performance & on another day would’ve walked away with a victory, showed strong resilience to keep getting themselves back into the game but today wasn’t to be!
*Parents Player*
*Nathan* was everywhere, showed his talent by powering the team on, stayed absolutely positive picking his team mates up wearing the captains armband well.
*POTM*
A number of players stood out, Alfie did well with his goal and link up, Reggie for his defending, Jose for his assists and forward play though went to *Arman* today, battled well, constantly running back and came away with an assist & top performance.
*Match Report: BEECHFIELD U8's STORM v MOORSIDE YELLOW
Beechfield Storm produced a fantastic team performance to secure a great victory over Moorside.
From the first whistle, Storm looked sharp in attack, with Archie getting on the scoresheet twice thanks to his determined forward play. Louie was in unstoppable form, netting an incredible four goals, including one set up by a brilliant assist from Ollie, who also added a well-taken goal of his own.
While the goals flew in at one end, the team’s defensive unit was just as important. Ezra and Jax were rock solid at the back, putting in some crucial tackles to break up Moorside’s attacks and keep the team on top. Behind them, Daly was excellent between the posts, making several key saves and showing great vision with his distribution to set up counter-attacks.
It was a superb all-round display, with every player contributing to an impressive win. Beechfield Storm showed real teamwork, determination, and quality throughout the match—ending with a deserved victory.
