POSTED: November 08 2015 12:25:11. By Dave Wood - Flixton Pumas v Tornadoes

It was a tournament clash for the Tornadoes today. After 3 continuously improving performances they found themselves away against Flixton Pumas. With no Ben Davies (broken finger) it was Lewis Wallis who kept the gloves after a solid performance against Winton last week. Oliver Lomas also made a much awaited appearance after far too long on the injury list. It was Beechy who started the stronger and took an early lead . When a great clearance from Jack Fitton found Kayden McClean in acres of space and calmly slotted the ball through the keepers legs.
Flixton reacted well and it wasn't long before They levelled. The teams were very evenly matched and both teams had lots of chances . Theo Valentine made some timely challenges as did Jack to help deny the Flixton players. While at the other end Harley Davidson mesmerised the Flixton defenders turning them inside out. The wing players Adam, Charlie and the returning Oliver put some great crosses into the box . Although every ball or deflection seemed to find a Flixton shirt. In the second half neither team could take control of the game although Beechy had far more chances than Flixton . Harley Kirk came on in different positions and managed to hold great concentration and saved Beechy on a number of occasions. Overall I would say this was Beechys best performance of the season and although lots of changes by the manager unsettled them at times. They were unlucky not to come away with a positive result .
